Project Focus
The Youth4 Open Innovation project (Erasmus+) focuses on reducing the socio-economic exclusion of young people in the Western Balkans region and the EU. It develops entrepreneurial, ICT, and innovation skills of youth, which are crucial for job seeking and global competitiveness. The main objective is to provide students with the opportunity to co-develop projects with the business sector, improve higher education institutions' curricula, and develop training for open innovation and problem-based learning.

Short Project Description
For the first time since World War II, there is a risk that the current generation of young people will have lower living standards than their parents. Socio-economic exclusion leads to democratic exclusion, resulting in lower participation in mobility programs (such as Erasmus+). Young people facing inequality are typically less active citizens and have less trust in institutions. Employment is linked to economic growth and the capacity of companies to drive innovation, develop new products and services, and reach global markets. Entrepreneurial and innovative skills are vital for students, graduates, and young people in general when looking for employment, which is why this project places a personal emphasis on developing these skills. The partners designed this project to provide young people with better training in entrepreneurship, ICT, and innovation, thereby contributing to the expansion of their open innovation capacities and improving the curricula of higher education institutions regarding open innovation.
Project Objective
The objective of the project is to offer students the opportunity to co-create and co-develop projects for the business sector and other organizations to foster innovative ideas within an international context. The project involves organizations from two Western Balkan countries (Montenegro and BiH) and one EU member state (Slovenia). The specific objective of the project is to raise stakeholders’ level of understanding regarding the applicability of the open innovation concept (to foster innovative behavior among youth); to develop and implement an open innovation curriculum/training; to develop entrepreneurial skills and problem-based learning; and to increase the open innovation capacity of young people.

We invite you to the curriculum development workshop on open innovation, organized by SASS within the activities of the Youth4 Open Innovation project. The workshop will take place on 7, 8, and 9 April 2021 via Zoom. More information and access links can be found in the attached invitation and agenda.
The goal of the workshop is to design an open innovation curriculum, which will serve as a baseline for developing study programs at partner institutions from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro, as well as courses for young people entering the labor market.
