Enrolment as a Citizen

Enrolment as a citizen allows you to complete individual courses without student status. It is suitable for differential exams and study obligations at all levels.

Stavba Fakultete za uporabne družbene študije v Novi Gorici.

Would you like to deepen your knowledge in a specific field, prepare for full-time studies, or complete differential exams? At the School of Advanced Social Studies (SASS), we offer enrolment as a citizen, which allows you to complete individual study requirements or participate in our non-formal education programmes.

What does enrolment as a citizen offer you?

  • Acquiring specialised knowledge: Choose courses from our accredited first-, second-, or third-cycle study programmes that interest you most.
  • Preparation for studies: An ideal solution if you want to thoroughly prepare for enrolment in a selected study programme.
  • Completion of differential exams: Complete the required differential exams quickly and efficiently, when these are a condition for enrolment in your desired study programme.
  • Participation in non-formal education: Take advantage of a wide range of short courses and workshops offered by the faculty.
  • Flexibility: You can design your own learning path (with certain limitations for first-year courses).
  • Equal rights in completing obligations: As a citizen, you have the same rights and responsibilities when completing exams and other study obligations as regular students.

Important: In one academic year, you may complete a maximum of 4 first-year courses (or courses from the year into which you intend to enrol as a regular student) and an unlimited number of differential exams.
Enrolment as a citizen does not grant student status or student rights.

How to Enrol as a Citizen

Enrolment as a citizen offers you an excellent opportunity to take part in the educational process and gain new knowledge and skills without enrolling in a full study programme. Whether you want to expand your professional expertise, complement your education, or simply learn something new, this option is designed especially for you. We invite you to take advantage of this opportunity for personal and professional growth.

  1. Complete the Citizen Application Form electronically and sign it using your mouse. If you are applying for differential exams, follow the instructions provided at the linked page.
  2. Only in the case of enrolment in part of the Psychotherapeutic Propedeutics study programme, you must also attach proof of completed secondary education and send a scanned copy to: referat@fuds.si

Based on the submitted documentation, the faculty will invite you to enrol. With the enrolment invitation, you will receive a username and password to access the system. In the Web Office, you must complete and sign (with your mouse) the enrolment form and the contract, which will be generated automatically. You will receive the registration fee invoice by e-mail.

Upon enrolment, you will also gain access to the Moodle online classroom, where instructions and study materials are published.

Citizens register for exams through the Web Office, under the tab EXAMS – EXAM REGISTRATION. 1–2 days before the exam, you will receive the exam fee invoice by e-mail.

You can register for an exam no later than 4 working days before the exam date, and you can cancel your registration no later than 3 working days before the exam date.

If you purchase the Study+ package, you can take exams online via Zoom.

The price is determined based on the ECTS value of the individual course. The fee includes three exam attempts.

Detailed information on the prices of differential exams and the value of a single ECTS credit for different study programmes is available in the price list.

You can pay for the exam in two ways:

  • As a self-payer
  • If the payer is a company, you must complete a form titled Statement of the Payer (OBR-FUDŠ-035), which can be found in the Web Office. Upload the completed form to the online system when completing the enrolment form.

If you wish to withdraw as a citizen (most often because you are continuing your studies as a regular student), you must complete the Citizen Withdrawal Form and send it to the faculty headquarters.
