Career Centre

Since 2014, the SASS Career Centre has been regularly monitoring the career paths of our graduates. Through online surveys, we carefully analyse the collected results, which help us continuously improve the study process and ensure that students acquire the competencies needed for a smoother entry into the labour market.

In the surveys, we regularly examine:

• graduates’ connection with the faculty after completing their studies and their activity within the SASS Alumni Club,
• continuation of studies at SASS or at other institutions,
• employability of graduates, including job positions, organisations, and the usefulness of the competencies gained during their studies.

The most recent survey was sent to all SASS graduates who completed their studies between 1 January 2019 and 31 December 2021.

Statistical overview:

• Total number of contacted graduates: 99 graduates across all three levels of study
• Response rate: 36 graduates responded (36.36%)

Distribution of respondents by study programme:

• Psychosocial Support (BAA): 9 graduates
• Social Management (BAA): 4 graduates
• Applied Social Studies (BA): 9 graduates
• Intercultural Management (MA): 9 graduates
• Psychosocial Support (MA): 3 graduates
• Sociology (PhD): 2 graduates

Our analyses show that SASS graduates remain actively connected with the faculty even after completing their studies, and they reveal graduates’ choices regarding further education.

Cooperation with the faculty and the Alumni Club:

• More than half of graduates (53%) wish to be informed about the activities of the SASS Alumni Club and other faculty activities.
• 33% of graduates are willing to become active members of the Alumni Club.
• Only 12% of surveyed graduates do not wish to participate in the Alumni Club.
• The faculty also follows the achievements of graduates through formal and informal Alumni Club events (meetings, conferences, diploma award ceremonies, etc.).

Continuation of studies after graduation:

• 55% of graduates do not continue their studies after completing their degree but enter employment directly.
• Of those who do continue their studies, 42% choose SASS.
• Only 3% continue their studies at another institution.

SASS graduates rate the importance and usefulness of the competencies gained during their studies highly, particularly in relation to their career paths and employability.

• Usefulness of competencies: Graduates rate the competencies they acquired as quite important (overall average rating 4.29) for their current job or for obtaining employment.
• Acquisition at SASS: They assess that they acquired these competencies to a similar extent at SASS (overall average rating 4.22).
• Monitoring achievements: The faculty also monitors the achievements of graduates through formal and informal Alumni Club activities (e.g., meetings, conferences, diploma award ceremonies), providing ongoing contact and feedback for further improvements.
