Programme: Erasmus+

Key Action: KA2, Strategic Partnership Project for Adult Education

Project Focus

The Error 404 project (Erasmus+ KA2) addresses the growing importance of digital skills, with a specific focus on women, who remain underrepresented in digital adoption and leadership positions. The primary goal is to bring digital content closer to women and other disadvantaged groups (considering geographical, social, health, and age-related constraints) through interactive methods. This will be achieved by establishing specialized virtual workshops and conducting in-person training sessions. A key output of the project will also be the publication of a manual dedicated to women in the business world. SASS (School of Advanced Social Studies) contributes to the project with its extensive experience in the fields of education and research.

Project description

In the recent years one can observe a growing level of employment in the ICT sector. In this regard the possession of digital skills is what everyone eager to enhance the competitiveness in a bunch of different fields of expertise have to consider. This especially applies to women. According to recent studies women are falling behind men both in terms of the possession of digital skills as well as the motivation to acquire them. Thus, it is not a surprise that women are also noticeably underrepresented in the leadership positions.

The consortium of partners working on the project Error 404 are well aware of this not very encouraging trend. One of the main aims of the project is indeed to bring women closer to the ICT sector. This will be done with the creation of intensive online courses, all related to the digital skills. What is more, the project is also planning to establish hubs in each of partners’ headquarters. This means that women could soon teach digital skills in person in one of partner’s institution.

With the intention to close the gap between men and women in leadership positions, the project also aims to create a manual of digital skills, especially intended to the female entrepreneurs in ICT sector. Beside women, project also addresses other disadvantaged groups such as people with different disabilities, difficulties (geographic, social, etc.) as well as older people.

As project partner, School of Advanced Social Studies (SASS) will, based on its long-time experiences in higher education and research, play an important role.
