After high school, internship and professional exam in the field of health care, she enrolled at the Faculty of Education in Ljubljana, where she graduated in 1995 and obtained the title of professor of special education for behavioral and personality disorders and institutional care. After an internship at the Center for Social Work in Nova Gorica, in 1996 she passed the professional exam in the field of social care. She gained work experience at the Primary school for persons with special needs Kozara, Ozara, Šent and Šentprima, thus gaining the areas of developmental disorders and mental health. For the last 12 years, she has been employed at the Varstveno delovni Center Nova Gorica, as a projects leader and leader of institutional care, and a member of the rehabilitation team for people with acquired brain injuries and spinal cord injuries. In 2007 she obtained the title of independent consultant, and in 2015 senior consultant. Since 2001, she has been a counselor to students in the preparation of seminar and diploma theses and a mentor to students in practice and during internships. She has actively participated in several national and international conferences on mental health, acquired brain injuries and the employment of people from vulnerable target groups. In recent years, she has been more active in the non-governmental sector, she is a member of the regional council of NGOs and vice-president of the Društvo PO-MOČ, where she is also employed as a professional manager for personal assistance.
