Acquired Competences SM (BA):

Students of the Bachelor of Arts (BA)/Higher professional study programme Social Management obtain the following general competences and  course-specific competences.
 

General Competences:

  • knowledge and understanding of cultural and social processes and the ability to analyze them in a complex way;
  • use of methodological tools, ie. conducting, coordinating and organizing research, using various research methods and techniques;
  • the ability to formulate original ideas, concepts and solutions to specific problems;
  • ethical reflection and commitment to professional ethics in the social environment by respecting the principles of non-discrimination and multiculturalism;
  • development of critical and self-critical judgment;
  • ability to flexibly apply knowledge in practice;
  • knowledge of the importance of quality and striving for the quality of professional work through autonomy, (self) criticality, (self) reflexivity and (self) evaluation in professional work;
  • ability to identify and take advantage of opportunities offered in the work and social environment (manifested as an entrepreneurial spirit and active citizenship);
  • development of communication skills to communicate with different environments;
  • ability to work in a team, ie. willingness to cooperate, take into account the opinions of others and fulfill the agreed role within the team and group;
  • ability to develop alternative solutions in the strategic planning process;

  • understanding the economic aspects of the operation of the non-profit sector;

  • ability to regulate relations between employers and workers;
  • ability to analyze, synthesize and predict solutions and consequences;
  • ability to solve complex problems of individuals that arise in the work environment and in the employment process;
  • ability to interdisciplinary networking of different experts and team work in order to properly evaluate individual issues that arise in practice and to jointly find appropriate solutions;
  • ability to use relevant domestic and international legal sources, use of electronic sources and critical analysis of relevant literature.

Couse-specific Competences:

  • knowing and understanding of the justifications and history of the development of basic social sciences (disciplines), namely in the field of sociology, political science, communication, economics and management, social informatics, jurisprudence, social statistics and qualitative methods;
  • ability to solve concrete social and work problems using social science scientific methods and procedures;
  • the ability to integrate coherently mastered fundamental knowledge acquired in compulsory subjects and its application in practice;
  • ability to obtain, select, evaluate and place new information and ability to interpret in the context of social sciences;
  • ability of an interdisciplinary approach, which manifests itself as an understanding of the general structure of the social sciences and the connection between its individual disciplines and subdisciplines;
  • understanding and application of methods of critical analysis and development of theories and their use in solving concrete social and work problems;
  • development of skills in the application of knowledge in the field of social sciences through the solution of theoretical or empirical problems;
  • ability to use information and communication technology and systems in the field of social sciences;
  • organizational and leadership skills in organizations, with an understanding of individual values ​​and group value systems, by managing professional ethical issues;
  • organizational and managerial skills for organizing active and independent work;
  • communicating with experts from various fields of economic and social life and with various stakeholders;
  • understanding the relationships between individuals, organizations and the social environment, the ability for a complex systemic view and operation;
  • knowledge and understanding of theoretical basic analytical and consulting work (knowledge transfer to the user);
  • planning and managing change while forming a comprehensive assessment of the situation in the organization or social environment, taking into account various factors;
