The tutorship at SASS does a successful job!

With the help of the tutoring system, we strive to make our students feel good and to solve various problems on an ongoing basis. 7 teacher tutors and 15 student tutors were appointed at the school in the 2020/21 academic year.

We also started implementing a new form of tutoring, which we named tutoring to facilitate the performance of missing obligations. The purpose of this form of tutoring is to provide assistance to students who did not complete all their obligations in the 2019/20 academic year and were either extended their status or granted extraordinary promotion to a higher year related to enrollment for the 2020/21 academic year. This form of tutoring involved 4 students from the master’s study program Psychosocial Counseling.

Tutors, in cooperation with the Career Center, implemented the project “SASS student counseling” to facilitate the performance of missing obligations in November 2020. They wrote various articles for the “SASS Student Counseling Center” with which they were aware that a bad epidemiological situation causes various mental distress among people, and helped both students and the general public.

The faculty is increasingly meeting students who come from other linguistic and cultural backgrounds, so in the last few years, special emphasis has been placed on tutoring for foreign students, which is a great help to foreign students in their studies. The peculiarity of the cooperation of student tutors for foreign students is that the tutors are the same speakers as tutors, which helps to learn the language faster and, above all, to integrate into the environment.

We can boast that students are in principle quite satisfied with the tutoring system at SASS (M = 4.12). 47% of students are very satisfied with the system, and only 6% are (very) dissatisfied.

Contentment with tutoring system at SASS

An average of 8 students turned to one student tutor for help in the 2019/20 academic year. Tutor students most often communicate with their tutors because through social networks.

If you still have a number of questions during your studies, I invite you to get in contact with tutors.

In the following days, the Career Center, with the help of student tutors, will contact students who have not passed any exams in the first semester and offer them help and counseling.
