Lecturer at B.A. courses:
- Statistics 2
- Multuvariate analysis
Curriculum vitae:
Dr. Janez Povh obtained a Ph.D. in 2006, with doctoral dissertation
titled: ”Application of semi definite and copositive programming and
combinatorial optimization”, completed under supervision of professor
Franz Rendl from the Institute of Mathematics, University of
Klagenfurt. Dr. Povh received a special Krka’s prize for his doctoral
dissertation in Autumn of 2007. Currently he is working on:
- application of semidefinite programming to obtain a sum of hermitian
squares (SOHS) decomposition of real non-commutative polynomials;
- semidefinite approximations of the cone of copositive matrices.
Participation in projects:
- Metric and topological graph theory - ARRS (Institute of Mathematics, Physics and Mechanics, Ljubljana).
- The algorithms for the analysis of the allocation of sites - ARRS
(Institute of Mathematics, Physics and Mechanics, Ljubljana).
- Graph’s minors, plots graphs and networks - ARRS (Institute of Mathematics, Physics and Mechanics, Ljubljana).
- Algorithmic Discrete Optimization Network - Adonet -EU (Alpen Adria University Klagenfurt, Austria).
- Application of existing methods and the development of new methods of
mathematical programming in the real algebra - ARRS (Institute of
Mathematics, Physics and Mechanics, Ljubljana).
Asistant professor Janez Povh, PhD. is Dean of Faculty of Information Studies.
