Enrollment requirements:
The 1st year of higher professional study programme of social management can be entered by:
- anyone who has graduated high school;
- anyone who has passed the final exams in any secondary school program;
- anyone who has graduated any high school program before 01/06/1995
- anyone who has gained the equivalent education abroad.
Main objectives of the programme
The main objective of the study programme is to educate social management students with a broad interdisciplinary approach that will allow them to get involved actively in the creative work process in public administration, non-profit organizations or organizations working in the field of social policy, immediately after the first level of the programme. They will acquire relevant knowledge and skills to work in organizations in the economy or the private commercial sector. They can also continue their studies following the second and later on the third level. The program is designed highly interdisciplinary. Students will master their knowledge in different social sciences (sociology, political science and communication science), to a lesser extent than necessary for the formation of a large and useful professional profile, however they will also gain knowledge in the field of law, business and administrative sciences. Much attention will be devoted to a methodological purpose. Education will focus on acquiring management skills from different fields (social, health, education, culture ...).
Programme's structure is based on four parts of modules:
1.Mandatory introduction courses from social sciences field; within these courses student gains basic knowledge from social sciences field. The goal is to give a student competence for understanding and evaluation of complex social phenomena within interdisciplinary perspective.
2.Mandatory introductory and professional courses in the field of management; within these courses student acquires basic knowledge and specific expertise and develops management skills in the social field.
3.Mandatory methodological courses; within these courses student gains theoretical basis and key methodological tools needed for independent research work when analysing social phenomena.
4.Selective courses; student selects courses within SASS of within other Slovenian or foreign universities. In this was a student himself/herself contributes towards its own intellectual and professional profile.
Study programme of social management allows students to obtain in-depth expertise in the field of human resource management and allows them to gain management skills in the field of social security and other fields.
